Greek Sculpture
Greek art was different from all art previous to it. It was much more realistic but that is not the only difference. Greek sculpture was meant to imply motion, in direct opposition to the staticness o Egyptian and Near Eastern art. Greek sculpture was meant to capture a moment in time usually right before the performance of an action. It was meant to be viewed from multiple angles and would go out in several directions. Greek sculpture brought sculpture out of symbolic works and into almost photographic sculptures.
Catharsis
I'm having a catharsis. My body trembles and my mind quakes. I feel as if I have the power to change my world. I want to shout at the world as an introduction to the new me. Things will never be the same.

My right brain, my left brain
My right brain, my left brain. My right brain is responsible or my intuition, my creativity and social skills. My left brain allows me to act with logic and learn through memorization. My left brain helps me in school much more than my right brain but my right brain makes school worth it. My right brain is what allows me to enjoy my surroundings.

College is a culture
College is a culture because the students share experiences and to a certain extent values and fashion. College students share the same fashion style, a combination of cheap and fashionable. College students tend to have different values from when they arrived on campus due to meeting so many types of people. It's the shared experiences that cause college students to grow similar forming their own culture.

Public art
I know what art is
Art is the composition of ideas. Ideas can be thought of and explored but it is not until they are given form that it becomes art. Art is about the ideas expressed by the artist and provoked in the viewer. Strong art is strong ideas.

Art and film
Art and film are one in the same. Since its inception film has been a new art form. Film has advantages over many art forms. It doesn't need to be created in real time, motion can be shown easily and animation provides massive flexibility for the artist. Film is excellent for art and provides unprecedented levels of flexibility in what the artist can do.
Art education in schools
Art should always be taught in school. Whereas science, math and history engages the left side of the brain, english and art should engage the right. Art education allows a student to express themselves, relax and learn to think creatively. Art education is needed to help a student learn to be a balanced person.

Art on Youtube
I found a video on youtube called Latte Art. The idea of making pictures out of lattes is extremely creative and alot of work was put into the video. This video gets the Steven Seal of Approval.

Diamond Skull
I'd like to do this blurb about the most expensive piece of art that's not priceless. That art is the Diamond Skull made by Damien Hirst.
The skull is encrusted with over 8000 diamonds and is likely worth over 100 million. Hirst isn't as enthusiastic as expected about the work. He says that he fears the work will have to be protected for many years and that people may die because of its high price.

A music video that is art
I believe that the video for Astrodronaut by Ufomammut is a true work of art.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSiXEbtLpeA
The video is several swirling, kaleidoscoping images set to slow psychedelic music. The images sync to the images in a surprising way. The band did the images for the video and are part of an art collective Malleus. The band members specialize in screen-printed gigaposter art and art prints.

The Dioramas
There were several dioramas I liked. Some of them are
A diorama that was funny: I really liked the diorama on the planets. All the planets but Pluto were invited to a game of monopoly. Poor Pluto...
A diorama that was creative: The diorama on overstimulation and the death of the written word was very creative. It really went to the limit of what a diorama can even be.
A diorama that made me think: The diorama on overprescribed America. I liked the comics on it. They were very thought provoking.
A Diorama I opposed: The diorama on Micheal Vick angered me. The man beat dogs. Just because he's good at football doesn't excuse that he's a horrible person.
A Diorama I opposed but could understand where it was coming from: The diorama on tree cutting with plastic work trucks in it. Though it's lamentable to lose forest, too many people in third world countries rely on logging to blindly rail against it.
The artist of this diorama was really bold: The diorama on war with skeletons and dead bodies in it was bold because of its extremely strong imagery.
How it felt as a diorama artist
I was anxious about creating a diorama about an issue, especially the strong one I chose. I was nervous that people wouldn't like my diorama or that the other dioramas would all be better than mine. I liked creating the diorama. It was very soothing and a bit of a puzzle trying to make it work(I was missing most of my paint set).

A bit of architecture I like
One piece of architecture I love is The Church of Saint Yves at the Sapienza. The building uses many intersecting curves that create a smooth, clean appearance. The corkscrew top of the church is interesting to look at and creates an unusual looking church. I like how the facade uses simple recesses and columns to create a truly interesting looking front.
A Film that is Art
One of my favorite horror films is The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. The film is silent, so much of the emotion of the movie is carried forth by set designs and lighting. The movie creates an emotion that is both surreal, claustrophobic and tense. The angles of the set make perspective and place uncertain. All in all it is a very ambitious movie that works around its limitations and evokes a strong sense of surreal horror.
