A bit of architecture I like

One piece of architecture I love is The Church of Saint Yves at the Sapienza. The building uses many intersecting curves that create a smooth, clean appearance. The corkscrew top of the church is interesting to look at and creates an unusual looking church. I like how the facade uses simple recesses and columns to create a truly interesting looking front.

A Film that is Art

One of my favorite horror films is The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. The film is silent, so much of the emotion of the movie is carried forth by set designs and lighting. The movie creates an emotion that is both surreal, claustrophobic and tense. The angles of the set make perspective and place uncertain. All in all it is a very ambitious movie that works around its limitations and evokes a strong sense of surreal horror.
